See all services →Digital Growth Package for a Platform Lift Specialist
Industry: Trades / Specialist Engineering | Location: South East England | Timeline: 2 weeks
The Problem
A specialist platform lift installer under a year old, already generating serious revenue through sub-contract work. But most of the pipeline depended on larger companies feeding them jobs. When those companies were quiet, the phone stopped ringing.
They'd proven that LinkedIn posting generated direct work. 1-2 jobs closed from content alone. But they couldn't post daily while on site five days a week, and the pipeline dried up when the content stopped.
No website. No Google presence. No SEO. No system for generating direct enquiries. A business with real expertise but zero digital visibility.
What I Built
Website
Full responsive site with all services listed, qualifications showcased, contact forms, structured data, and SEO targeting local search terms. Ready for their domain.
Competitor Analysis
Deep analysis of 4 competitors: strengths, weaknesses, what to steal. Comparison table across 9 dimensions. Identified a positioning gap nobody else owned: local, independent, hands-on, not corporate.
4 Sector Landing Pages
Dedicated pages for residential, commercial, care homes, and listed buildings. Each with its own SEO targeting, compliance information, and sector-specific copy. Each ranks independently.
Google Ads Strategy
Full campaign structure with keyword research, competitor landscape, ad copy templates, success metrics with kill thresholds, and pricing as an add-on. Ready to execute when the foundation is set.
Google Business Profile
Full setup plan with optimised description, service categories, review strategy, and NAP consistency across all directories.
Positioning & Copy
Complete positioning page with hero, services, how it works, compliance section, testimonial placeholders, and CTA structure. Written to convert, not to impress.
The Maths
| Service Type | Sub-contract Rate | Direct Rate | Extra Margin |
|---|---|---|---|
| Stairlift service | £120 | £200 | +£80 |
| Platform lift service | £140 | £200 | +£60 |
| Stairlift install | Via contractor | £500-£1,500 | New revenue |
| Commercial contract | One-off jobs | £2,000-£5,000/yr | Recurring |
Break-even on the entire package: 3 direct jobs per month. One commercial maintenance contract covers the annual cost. The real value compounds: direct clients become repeat clients at full rate.
The positioning gap we found
None of their competitors owned the space they naturally occupy: local specialist installer who is independent, hands-on, and not corporate. The biggest competitor is national and tied to one manufacturer. The second is independent but feels like a mid-size company. The local one treats platform lifts as a sideline.
"You deal with the engineer who actually installs your lift. Not a call centre, not a sales rep, not a subcontractor."
